In this project, we integrated insurance policy detail information from the iSeries into nine Excel workbooks. Using a combination of ADO, DAO, ODBC Direct and Visual Basic for Applications, we developed download routines that extract, translate and format the information while placing it automatically into the appropriate worksheets. The workbooks then become part of a broker-to-insurance carrier workflow system designed to reduce keystrokes, improve accuracy, and speed submissions.
